How to Pay Shif via M-Pesa.

In today’s fast-paced digital world, making payments online has become easier than ever. If you’re looking to pay for services like Shif, which offers a variety of services like transport, entertainment, and more, M-Pesa is one of the most convenient ways to complete your transaction. M-Pesa is one of the popular mobile money transfer and payment services in Kenya. It offers an easy, safe, secure, and fast way of paying for goods and services. Below is a simple step-by-step guide on how to pay for Shif services using M-Pesa.

1. Ensure Your M-Pesa Account is Active

First and foremost, ensure your M-Pesa account is registered and that you have enough money in your account. If you do not have M-Pesa registered, this is what you do:

Go to any M-Pesa agent of your choice.

Give them your identification details along with your phone number.

Deposit some cash into your M-Pesa account.

You will get a confirmation SMS after successful registration.

2. Get the Payment Details from Shif

In paying for the Shif services, first, you have to obtain the payment details. Normally, that will include the following: Shif paybill number or till number; your account number or reference number, usually provided upon booking a service on the Shif platform. These details can mostly be found on Shif’s website or the payment section in your booking confirmation.

3. Open the M-Pesa Menu

Once your M-Pesa account is active and funded, it’s time to make the payment. To do so,

Open the M-Pesa menu on your phone either by dialing `234` or through the M-Pesa app if installed.

Select “Lipa na M-Pesa” from the options available.

4. Select the Paybill Option

Then you will have to select the Paybill option in order to pay for services via M-Pesa:

Select “Paybill” from the list of options.

– Enter the Paybill number or Till number provided by Shif.

(It could be something like 123456, depending on for what service you are paying).

 5. Enter the Account Number or Reference Number

This is the step where you fill in specific details that connect your payment to the right service. For Shif:

– Account Number or Booking Reference: Enter your account number or booking reference provided by Shif. It could be your order number or any specific reference that is linked to the service you are paying for.

6. Confirm the Amount to Pay

You will now be asked to provide the amount to pay. Recheck the amount on your screen for accuracy to ensure it reflects the price of the service you are paying for.

– Enter the amount you want to pay, say KSh 1000.

– Click “OK” to confirm.

7. Enter Your M-Pesa PIN

For security reasons, M-Pesa will require you to enter your PIN to authorize the payment:

Enter your M-Pesa PIN safely when prompted.

Click “OK” to authorize the transaction.

8. Wait for Confirmation

Once the payment is processed, you will receive an SMS notification confirming that the payment was successful. You’ll also receive a confirmation message from Shif acknowledging the payment.

– Save the confirmation SMS for future use in case you need to verify the payment.

9. Complete the Service

With the payment made, you can now go ahead to enjoy your paid-for Shif service: booking transport, securing tickets, or whatever else was to be offered by Shif.

 Tips for M-Pesa Payment:

– Ensure Correct Details: Always ensure the Paybill number, account number, and amount are correctly keyed in before proceeding.

– Network Connection: Make sure you have a good network connection during the payment process.

– Limitations in M-Pesa: M-Pesa is subject to daily limits for transactions, so if one is paying in a bulk amount, check whether the amount to be paid exceeds his daily limit.

Conclusion

Paying via M-Pesa through Shif is easy and secure. Just a few steps, and your payment will be complete to let you enjoy the services which Shif has to offer, be it paying for transport, events, or just about any other service you might want to pay for on the go. Just follow the steps above, and you’ll be all set!
